Pink is girly
"My young daughters noticed my despair at them picking PINK. They said its because Mumma doesn't like... GIRLS."
Meenal's despair at her girls choosing the colour "pink" for every little thing perhaps stems from an overdose of commercial colour coding "girly" things. It sums up the dilemma of being a feminist mother so well. How her kids interpret that is a complete contradiction to how Meenal feels. Being an artist and spending all this time with colour makes you a little weary of how much gender conditioning exists in kid's items.
